Email spam are irritating. They can flood your inbox with commercial contents, or worse, virus attachments or malicious links! So how exactly can we stop receiving email spam? One of the best ways is to use SpamAssassin to kill them in just few clicks. Once it is enabled on cPanel, it works wonders in reducing the unwanted emails in your email accounts.
What is SpamAssassin?
SpamAssassin is an automated email filtering system that uses a variety of techniques to identify and filter email spam with the most effective way. It works for all of the email accounts you set up on your cPanel.
How it Works?
SpamAssassin uses scores to rate email spam and enables its users to manage spam more effectively. It screens each incoming email and and give each of them a core based on spam characteristics. Thus users can mark the incoming emails to a specific folder, or choose to delete them automatically.
*** We do not encourage users to configure the settings to delete incoming emails automatically***
How to Enable/Disable SpamAssassin?
Step 1: Log in to your cPanel.
Step 2: Click on ‘Mail’ and choose SpamAssassin
You can see that SpamAssassin is ‘disabled’. Next, click on the “Enable SpamAssassin” button at the bottom of the page to enable SpamAssassin.
You can disable SpamAssassin whenever you want. To disable, simply click “Disable SpamAssassin”.
Next, you will receive a confirmation message on the next page once the SpamAssassin is either enabled or disabled.
