Digital for Life
Singapore’s Digital for Life (DfL) movement reached a defining milestone this year, and Exabytes is proud to have played a part in it. At a partner appreciation event held by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), attended by President Tharman Shanmugaratnam as patron of the movement and hosted by Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo, 92 organisations were honoured for their contributions to strengthening digital readiness across Singapore. Among them, Exabytes was named a Digital for Life Catalyst — one of 71 organisations recognised for launching impactful projects and sustaining meaningful support for the movement, alongside 21 organisations named DfL Champions for their long-term, community-led efforts.
More Than An Awards Ceremony
The occasion marked more than an awards ceremony. It celebrated the fact that the Digital for Life movement, launched in 2021, has since more than tripled its impact, now reaching over 870,000 Singaporeans through the efforts of more than 500 partners spanning government, industry, and community organisations. For Exabytes, being recognised within this collective achievement is a deeply meaningful affirmation of a journey we have walked alongside IMDA for several years — one rooted in a shared belief that digital transformation must be inclusive, human-centred, and built for everyone, not just the digitally privileged.
Exabytes’ relationship with the Digital for Life movement stretches back to its earlier festivals, where we partnered with Cyber Youth Singapore to design and deliver hands-on workshops that introduced young Singaporeans to the fundamentals of the digital economy. Through sessions such as “Build a Portfolio,” youths learned to use WordPress, understand basic HTML and CSS, and create their own personal websites — practical, transferable skills that open doors far beyond the classroom. That same spirit of accessible, skills-first learning carried through subsequent editions of the DfL Festival and appreciation events, where Exabytes has consistently shown up not as a passive sponsor, but as an active co-creator of programmes designed to close the digital divide.
Exabytes’ Commitments
Our commitment has extended deliberately to women in business. Exabytes partnered with Digital for Life in the early days of Accelerate Women Entrepreneurship with Exabytes (AWEWE) Singapore, walking alongside the programme for a couple of formative years as it took root. Since then, AWEWE has grown well beyond that beginning, going on to work with multiple partners and support more than 1,000 women in building their digital presence and digital empowerment. What we find most meaningful is not just the reach, but the network AWEWE has built along the way — a community where every woman’s story of taking that first step online becomes a reminder and a source of encouragement to the next woman considering hers.
For many of these entrepreneurs, that encouragement, paired with practical digital skills, has meant the difference between a business confined to word-of-mouth and one that can compete, sell, and grow online. Complementing this, our Digitalise Singapore for Youth initiative has continued to give young people the tools, confidence, and early exposure needed to see themselves as builders of the digital economy, not merely consumers of it.
We see this recognition as a Catalyst not as an endpoint, but as encouragement to lean further into a role we believe technology companies are uniquely positioned to play: that of a thought partner in nurturing digital capability within the community. At Exabytes, we have long held the view that digitalisation is not simply about deploying infrastructure or selling cloud and web solutions — it is about equipping people, particularly youths taking their first steps into the workforce and women building businesses from the ground up, with the confidence and competence to thrive digitally. This is the thinking that underpins our CSR philosophy, and it is a privilege to have it recognised by IMDA on a national stage.

The platform, guidance, and collaborative spirit that IMDA has consistently extended to us have allowed our CSR efforts to reach further and matter more than they could have on their own. This gratitude extends to every partner organisation, workshop facilitator, mentor, and volunteer who has walked this journey with us — the impact we celebrate today belongs to a community effort, not any single organisation.
As Singapore’s digital landscape continues to evolve, so too must our collective commitment to ensuring no one is left behind in that evolution. Exabytes looks forward to continuing this partnership with IMDA, deepening our work with youths and women entrepreneurs, and contributing our expertise toward a Singapore, and a region, where embracing digital is not a privilege but a shared reality.
